Why the SkijorNow belt is better:

1. Bungee side straps. A Skijor Now exclusive... belts include two Arctic grade bungees located in the side straps for increased shock absorbtion.
2. Ergonomics. A skijor belt should not inhibit your skiing movement. This belt "disappears" when worn so you can concentrate on skijoring with your dog. Other designs incorporate material over the buttocks or feature poorly positioned leg straps which can limit your freedom of movement.

5. Design. These belts have a connecting strap originating from each hip which attaches to the quick release in front. When your dog enters a turn ahead of you, the strap on the outside of the turn is pulled taut while the inside strap slackens. This pulling differential helps orient your hips properly for the turn.
6. Safety. Besides keeping the belt in position, the leg straps on our belts serve an important safety function as well. By bending over at the hip a skijorer can transfer the load from the small-of-the-back area to the buttocks via the leg straps. This transfer of force is critical when a dog charges forward against a slack towline. Belts without leg straps cannot offer the same level of protection.
7. Adjustability. Each skijorer has an optimal belt position based on their center of gravity, skiing ability and skijoring experience. With the adjustable leg straps and open design over the buttocks, it's possible to accommodate virtually any belt position a skijorer desires. Safety tips:
Bend forward at the waist to transfer the force from your back to the belt's leg straps if your dog lunges forward against a slack towline.
Sit down and roll on your skis if your dog is pulling you somewhere you don't want to go, then pull the quick release if necessary.
